A visit to the biggest tropical forest of the world is on top of many lists of tasks of the travelers.

Bolivia provides an incredible budget alternative to visit the basin.

Not only it is cheaper and less busy with other tourists, but it is so diverse as that of Brazil.

The starting point for the trips to the Bolivian Amazonia is the Rurrenabaque people.Visiting the Amazon

Here it is simple to register in tours, and it is going to be cheaper than if advance bookings in La Paz.

On the other hand, it is a small town, therefore it is easy to cover and to find an accommodation house for about 5-10 $ dollars the night while you find someone travel agencies.

There are two ways to visit the Amazonia from here:

The Pampas

The trips of the Pampa are the cheapest option and where you can find most of the flora and fauna, like crocodiles, monkeys squirrel and giant rodents.

It is possible that it is not the classic experience of Amazon forest that you have imagined, but;

the Pampa is a wetlands savanna in the rim of the basin of the Amazon and the absence of trees means that the wild life is much easier.

All the active tour operate on trips of two nights and three almost identical days for 64 more dollars the quota of entry to the Park 21 $ USD.

This there includes all the transports, the food and a guide. I recommend to go snacks, and your guide cannot be the most expert if you go with a cheapoperator.

Since the guides are very important for the general experience, insure of finding a good company.

After walking in a jeep for three hours to the forest, you raise yourself to a motorized canoe and travel three more hours along the river.

The trip in the river is the most out-standing thing, you are nearly one incredible quantity of wild life:

hundreds of caymans, entire Carpincho families (giant rodents jumping), turtles sunbathing in trunks and trees;

full of small yellow monkeys and birds like egrets, herons, spatulas, fly and surround you in all the way. (A Carpincho in the image).

The camp along with the river is in a calm environment between the trees:

with a heap of opportunities of observation of wild life.
The accommodation is in shared wooden huts, and you will wake up with the strident sound of howling monkeys.

A generator provides energy until 22:00 so that you could enjoy a few cold beers or Coca-Cola while you rest in a hammock and seeing the evening on the river.

Visiting the Amazon The Jungle

For a more classic Amazon experience, opt for a jungle tour.

Stay in an eco-lodge in the jungle and do activities from there, but this can be expensive.

You can pay almost triple the above mentioned option for a two night trip;

and three days from Madidi to El Lodge seree, but you get a big house, comfortable, good food and a very professional tour.

Also every tip you leave for the trip is destined for conservation work for the area.

Although it is still triple the price of a trip from Pampas, however, it is still much less so you would pay for a similar experience in Brazil.
Essere Lodge arrives for a three-hour canoe ride and short walk through the jungle.

You can choose a range of activities;

like canoe rides on the lake next to the camp (at night you can see the glowing red eyes of the alligators) day;

and night jungle hikes, piranhas, fishing and making walnut and seed jewels.

Jungle excursions are exhausting between heat and humidity, and there are many more mosquitoes than in the pampas.

It is also much more difficult to see the wildlife:

you could spend hours and not see even a monkey, while you could see dozens of them in the Pampa.

It is interesting to see colorful spiders and giant bugs and learn about medicinal uses of trees and plants.

In general you enjoy only the peace of being in the jungle;

especially from the comfort of a hammock, although you don’t see much of the wildlife.
